MOT and repair delivery and collection

Maybe you just don’t have time or your bike has been off the road for some time and you need to it MOT’d, we work with many garages across East Sussex and can arrange to get you to the garage for its MOT or repairs, saving you taking any time off work and the hassle of getting the bike to the garage.

General Motorcycle transport across the UK

Need your bike moving across the country for any reason, whether it’s for a vintage show or to move home we can take the hassle out of the move by ensuring your pride and joy arrives exactly how it left. For peace of mind we carry out a pre-departure check for and pre-existing damage including a report and photos we then carrying out the same inspection upon delivery.

Motorcycles are loaded by the ourselves using special equipment and loading procedures like fixed ramps and winches, it is then placed in secured chocks to keep the bike upright, then its is secured directly to the vehicle ensuring that all plastics and bodywork is protected, we also don’t tie it down so tight that it may damage your suspension or bodywork.

We are not just couriers that transport motorbikes. We are bikers and motorcycle transport specialists.

I have spent my whole life in and around bikes and I have moved 000’s of bikes, I started Southern Motorcycle Transport in 2021, I have the knowledge and experience on how to manoeuvre load and secure many many different bikes with different centres of gravity and weight distribution

Bought or sold a bike? Whether its brand new or used we can pick up and delivery your new bike or sold bike, this takes the hassle out of trying to find lifts or public transport to get your bike to its final destination, it also can be a great selling point for the bike if you can arrange delivery. Also, if you have just bought a brand new bike (you lucky thing) we can pick it up for you meaning you might be able to get a better deal from a further away dealer, and you won’t have to do the long ride on a bike that might need running in or you aren’t used to riding.

Correct Gear

Fully kitted out van

Full width fixed ramp, my ramp allows me plenty of space to manoeuvre the bike on board, being fixed it can’t slip or move when loading and unloading, especially important with heavy bikes, being full width means the hike is always at waist height as I’m standing in the ramp unlike single track ramps that you stand to the side so the bike is up high.
1 tonne winch fixed to the chassis of the van, allows me to safely pull up a heavy non running bike on board the van
Wheel chocks, specific motorcycle chock which the front wheel sits in and secures the bike in an upright position and reduces the amount of movement of the bike along with also reducing the need to place straps over the bike to secure it
Strapping, I use soft strapping and secure it to the chassis of the van never over or on any bodywork or any delicate parts, I don’t strap down the bike by its bars as it can cause damage to the fork seals and bar grips
I have CCTV in the rear of my van so I can monitor the bikes whilst I am driving, this means I can make sure all is well during the transit of your bike

Reasons to use us

Fully insured, public liability and trader’s policy. There are very few insurance companies that can correctly provide cover for motorcycle transport, and it’s not cheap at nearly £5k
We hold full motor trader’s policies which cover us physically moving the bikes, even if I’m not riding it is a requirement to have it to be correctly covered, which allot of companies don’t have due to the high cost, we also have vehicles in transit insurance up to £75k (can be increased for rare and vintage bikes) and we hold £5m public liability insurance. This covers the actual carriage of the bikes, goods in transit doesn’t cover it due to having to be specifically secured and also they have dangerous fluids within the bikes engine. Public liability insurance, covers me in case of anything which may happen to members of the public etc, not strictly required but worth having.

Bikes placed in secure chocks, strapped directly to the vehicle with soft tie downs to protect the bike’s bodywork
Fixed rear ramp weighted at 1 Tonne for added security
